When you’re traveling with a baby, bringing along a carrier or stroller for a trip is a given. But once they get a little older and start walking on their own, there becomes a point when a stroller starts to be more of a burden, and you’ll wish you only had it for certain parts of the trip (like the airport).
When Lugabug reached out to me about their product, it couldn’t have come at a better time. We were headed to Costa Rica and a stroller was unnecessary for us, since we wouldn’t have any sidewalks to walk on and would spend most of our time on beaches. But even with a 5-year-old who can walk on his own, the airport is always a struggle. And trying to convince a small child he needs to walk when you have to be at the airport at 3:30 in the morning and are also handling luggage still half-asleep is not exactly a stress-free way to start a vacation.
Unlike so many products for little ones, the Lugabug is super simple and straightforward. You’ll only need a rolling suitcase. Just clip one strap over the luggage handle and clip one across the back. That’s it. When you’re not using it, simply zip it up, or stash it in your suitcase. It’s slim, so it won’t feel like one more kid’s travel product you need to squeeze in.
The recommended minimum age is 2 and can hold up to a 60-pound kid. I was skeptical my 5-year-old could sit on it, but it definitely worked! My son thought it was a fun new ride. I loved not having to haul around a stroller just for the airport, but also giving him a chance to rest his feet so I could focus on getting to our gate on time.
You can purchase from Lugabug’s website and on Amazon Prime.
